This week we are privileged to welcome the incredibly talented Loren and her little boy Thomas to the pages of our journal. Loren and Thomas have made a name for themselves through creative projects that they consider and create together and their instagram page makes for truly harmonious viewing.
We set them the challenge of creating something special from one of our adventure boxes and intentionally gave them no real steer, with the exception of the project connecting back to nature.
We were literally awestruck when we saw what they had created and below you can see how it came to life:
I was so curious to know what inspired Loren and Thomas and how they developed this special bond of working on creative projects together.
" My priority was to do something that was not very time consuming and wasteful. I wanted to make something inclusive to all kids and that could be done by taking advantage of nice outdoor weather to find the materials.
My grandmother showed me many crafting ideas in my younger days and after I became a mother I learned that I had good instinct to create different projects with Thomas. He inspired me to create things that helped him learn while having fun.
The internet is full of ideas and guides to start a plan, but for the most part, I do not prepare anything in advance. When Thomas is focused on a specific subject we just take our time and improvise. I am a huge fan of using the outdoors for natural materials and reusing common household items.
I probably would never have found this talent if I did not have Thomas. "
